2.03 |
0S Non-Proxy Atomic Sync allows you to perform time synchronizations, even if NTP (Network Time Protocol) is blocked by a proxy or a firewall. The program extracts the time from regular HTTP web pages, rather than using the NTP protocol, thereby bypassing the firewall - as long as you have access to the Internet. We found the synchronized time to be slightly inaccurate (within 4 seconds), however unless you depend on on-the-second time synchronization, the program provides a good alternative, and is surely better than no synchronization at all.

A standard synchronizing program will not work if NTP (Network Time Protocol) is suppressed by a proxy or a firewall.
This synchronizer uses plain access to WWW pages that show standard GMT time. It will work if you have access to Internet Web pages.
The unique Time Offset feature of the program allows setting up your PC clock to gain or to lose for a specified interval. Many our users value this feature greatly. Clock in your PC needs to be corrected only several times a month. And it is this fact that defines the way the program works: the program runs when Windows starts, checks whether synchronization has been done this day already, and stops immediately if so. Otherwise the program checks for Internet connection, then tries to synchronize your clock and ends its work if succeeded. So as you see mostly the program is idle and is not wasting resources of your PC. Synchronization is done automatically while you are receiving your e-mail or surfing the web and no actions are to be done by you. The program uses three different time sources.

Absolute Time Corrector (ATC) queries NIST timeservers using the Internet and then compares NIST time to the time setting of the host computer. If there is a disparity, ATC automatically adjusts the computers time to reflect NIST time. Once set up the host computer can serve as a timeserver to any size network. The host can be set to check NIST time as often or seldom as desired, and each computer in the network can likewise be set to check time on the host computer as often as deemed necessary by the network administrator.

resources consumption, and it can be started before user logon.
The short list of Absolute Time Server features includes support for RFC-868 (TIME) and RFC-2030 (SNTP) time synchronization protocols, optimized for performance as NT service (and emulation of NT service for Windows 9x systems), WINSOCK 2 support, low consumption of server resources. In addition to program’s small download size and easy installation, Absolute Time Server starts its job right after installation, without any set-up.
While Absolute Time Server can be and is successfully used as a stand-alone product, it works best when integrated with Absolute Time Corrector, low cost award-winning time synchronization software from FlexibleSoft.

(1) The main purpose of the program is synchronizing PC clock using HTTP protocol instead NTP or SNTP protocols. Some users and system administrators need such product because they have problems with standard (NTP,SNTP) synchronization. There are firewalls that make such synchronization difficult. The program can be used on the along computer connected to the Internet and in a local network, in home and office.
(2) It works as NT Service so can be used under user login with restricted rights. The program starts to work immediately after system launching before user login.
(3) It can be useful for secure using in systems that protected from Internet connection. The program can be used with inside LAN HTTP server without any outgoing connections. The script that shows the server time is delivered with it.
(4) Other special feature is supporting of bad PC time hardware. If you have fluent time error you can synchronize computer every hour. The program catch jumping time error too. If time jumps the program synchronizes PC clock immediately.
(5) It has some additional useful options as time offset, synchronize periods, time sources choosing, etc.
