CDnGo is a CD audio extractor that will encode with most encoders. It supports MP3, WAV, and Ogg Vorbis formats. In addition to the CD ripping functions it comes with an Audio Compressor and ID3 file tagger. CDnGo supports freedb, allowing you get the song titles from a CDDB server and then store them in a standard Windows CDPlayer.INI file. The program works with all major encoders but only comes with the GoGo encoder from Japan which is known for speed but only average sound quality.

Cdrdao is a command line engine, that records audio or data CD-Rs in disk-at-once (DAO) mode based on a textual description of the CD contents (toc-file). It features full control over length and contents of pre-gaps (pause areas between tracks). Pre-gaps may be completely omitted, e.g. for dividing live recordings into tracks. Additional features include full control over control sub-channel data, accepts WAVE and raw audio files, CD-TEXT reading and writing with drives that support it, as well as CDDB access to automatically create CD-TEXT data. This program is command line based, it does have a user interface.
