Outlook Spam Filter is an easy-to-use Microsoft Outlook add-on that automatically filters the spam from incoming email and moves it into a quarantined folder from where it can be reviewed or deleted. The engine uses Bayesian filtering technology that identifies about 97% of incoming spam messages, and an additional Auto-Learning feature increases the filtration accuracy by analysis of the user`s personal correspondence. The program achieved very good results during our tests, and detected almost all spam messages. Since individual email needs are different, you can further customize the filtering, specify a list of friends and enemies, and also keywords that should bypass the filtering. Additional features include an option to quarantine all non-english character emails, system tray notification and more. Outlook Spam Filter is a highly effective add-on that allows you to get rid of the spam in your inbox, without taking a chance to accidentally delete an important email, that may have been caught in the filter. POPFile is an email classification system, that automatically sorts your messages and fights spam. It acts as a proxy between your email program and the mail server, scanning all incoming mail and then marks the mail according to your settings. When you first install the program, it is dumb and does not perform any classification at all - it is designed to learn from your personal classifications and becomes more and more hands-off the longer you use it. It keeps a history of all email messages that pass through the system and then allows you to classify each message as good, spam or any other criteria (personal, work, important etc.). These criteria are called "Buckets" and they are similar to virtual mail folders. The mail in each bucket will be tagged in a special way (subject, header), so you can instruct your email program to process it according to your preferences. POPFile does not delete any email on its own, however you can instruct your email program to act upon messages that are tagged as spam (or anything else) and have them be deleted or send to a different mail folder. The program offers an additional Quarantine option that can wrap the message in a container, allowing you to get an idea of the content, without actually opening any attachments or images of the original mail. POPfile uses Naive Bayes classification, which is highly effective an learns from your instructions. Overall, POPfile provides great flexibility and accurate filtering, however it does require at least some basic understanding of email and POP accounts in order to use it effectively.

SARDS (Spam Analysis, Reporting, and Deletion System) is a powerful anti-spam suite that provides a very comprehensive e-mail scanning system that can handle multiple email accounts. It comes with a long list of features, including whitelist/blacklist support, E-mail address learning and import, integrated mail server, multi-method mail scanning, automated complaint generation, Internet blacklist checking and much more. Obvious spam can be immediately deleted at the server level, while suspected email is saved and moved into a different location for review (either local server or remote POP). The program is loaded with many configuration options and features to customize spam detection in many ways. It produces good results without much additional tweaking. While quite powerful in features, the configuration is not very user friendly and we found it to be one of the more difficult anti-spam programs to setup.
