Inbox100 is an anti-spam add-in for MS Outlook 2000/XP/2003 that allows you to filter your incoming email mainly based on a list of approved senders instead of content filters. It can import all your existing contacts, as well as existing email addresses from folders, and then allow only mail in your inbox that comes from an approved sender. All other mail will be routed into a quarantine folder from where you can delete, approve it or block the sender from future mailings. In addition, the program also performs a Bayesian analysis on your quarantined mail, and allows you to easily separate potential emails from probable spam. Basically, using Inbox100 you can make sure that no mail from your contacts being blocked or filtered, while all others are moved out of sight and further analyzed for spam. Inbox100 can also deactivate so called web beacons that are often inserted into spam mail to confirm your email address as soon as you open the email.

Junk Spy works with your current email program (like Outlook or Netscape) to identify junk email based on frequently updated junk detection resources. The program acts between your email program and mail server, analyzing incoming mail and flagging the junk messages.
It requires you to change your email settings to retrieve mail through localhost rather than your ISPs mail server. JunkSpy comes with many features, but we wouldn t recommended for novice users since it requires quiet a bit of configurations in order to work properly.

K9 is an anti-spam email filtering application that works in conjunction with your regular POP3 email program and automatically classifies incoming emails as spam (junk email) or non-spam. The program uses intelligent statistical analysis that can result in extremely high accuracy over time and eliminates the need for maintaining dozens of rules or constant updates to be downloaded. K9 learns from what you are considering spam and will automatically tag all future emails that match the pattern. You can then set up rules (in Outlook or Outlook Express etc.) to delete or move the spam-tagged messages. The initial results will be moderate, however, after processing a few dozen emails, K9 will detect a very large percentage of the spam and further improve accuracy over time. The advantage of this is that the program is able to filter spam based on your personal email statistics, rather than a generic or global list. The program will start filtering spam immediately after installation. We tested it with 1000 email message and it detected an astonishing 100% of the spam out of the box. As you keep using the program it learns from your good messages and email that you reply to, making sure that email from people that you are in contact with does never get filtered. Knockout Spam creates two new folders, one for spam and one for mail that it is unsure of - you can then review the contents of those folders once in a while and delete the messages at your leisure. The software will not delete any mail behind your back, so it is safe to use, even if you are concerned about spam filtering. If you find a message that was categorized incorrectly, simply drag it to the spam folder, or back to your Inbox, and Knockout Spam will learn from it automatically and adjust the filter logic. Overall, a very effective spam filter, that is easy to use and tightly integrates with Outlook. During our test, it produced the best out-of-the-box filtering result we have seen so far.
