Site Sounds is a website visitor notification tool that alerts you when somebody enters a page in your site that has been tagged with a special image tag. It provides a local interface that runs on your PC and informs you whenever a visitor enters a tagged page on your web server. It includes the IP address, as well as the URL of the page that was accessed. A built-in browser display shows you a summary of the items that were added or changed on the monitored page. The program can automatically ignore some common web site items like counters and banners, so you will not be notified if they change. In addition, you can choose to exclude images with external links from being part of the monitored content. Sitespector can keep an archive of changes for several day, so you can review changes even if you missed them when they took place. The interface is clean and easy to use, the summary reports will get better over time, since many things like navigation links, and other page elements will be ignored in future reports (unless they change).

SiteUp monitors your web sites and warns you when any become unreachable (e.g. when a server crashes). Because it checks page content it can even detect when the server is OK, but a site or page is unavailable. There is no limit to the number of sites that can be monitored, including secure sites, and the checking frequency can be anywhere between once a minute and once a day.
